Drivers of taxis (vans, sedans and three-wheelers) powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and operating under license to the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) in the Greater Bangkok region of Thailand will soon be able to take advantage of a new natural gas vehicle (NGV) credit card program launched by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, reports ThaiPR. The program is intended to help approved drivers cope with rising CNG prices in the nation until end of 2012; each card will contain BHT 3000 (USD 95) monthly credit specifically for fuel purchases, based on gross monthly fuel expenditure of BHT 9000 (USD 287).
