La Paz Shuts Door on LPG Buses, CNG Safer

In La Paz, the administrative capital of Bolivia, the Major Transit Operating Authority has commenced a campaign to remove public transit vehicles powered by LPG from circulation, reports FM Bolivia. Fearing for the safety of passengers after a number of incidents involving LPG powered vehicles, the government has given vehicle owners a clear choice – get off the road or convert their vehicles to safer compressed natural gas (CNG).
