National NGV Conference: Natural Gas Vehicles – Fueling America’s Bottom Line, Fort Worth TX, October 20-22, 2011
NGVAmerica’s program for its forthcoming conference aims to bring together service suppliers, consultants, policy makers and clean air / clean transportation advocates and allies to intensify the focus on the opportunities available to North America through the greater implementation of natural gas for transportation. Using the abundant natural gas resource to power cars and trucks can fuel America’s bottom line, organisers says, serving as the engine the economy needs by stimulating investment in infrastructure, creating exploration and production and manufacturing and service sector jobs, and improving fleet operators’ profitability. At the same time, natural gas use reduces emissions and stems the hemorrhage of cash for foreign oil.
“Utilizing our industry’s considerable resources and technological know-how, we’ve developed momentum toward achieving our goal. Now, more than ever, we must convince consumers and businesses of our technologies’ reliability, performance and economic viability if we hope to break their addiction to gasoline and diesel. And, we must motivate politicians to boldly lead by implementing long term policies that ease the transition away from reliance on problematic conventional fuels toward natural gas vehicles and other sustainable transportation solutions.”
The National NGV Summit, planned for Saturday 22nd, will deliver informative presentations, strategic briefings, industry leader roundtables and peer exchanges across an array of topics, including:
- comprehensive briefing on the economic impact of shale gas;
- the roles of statewide and regional NGV collaborative groups in promoting pro-NGV legislation and market development, corridor and hub-and-spoke infrastructure initiatives;
- engaging OEMs and leasing organizations in national accounts outreach
- gauging the situation in Washington and the likelihood of passage of legislation and policies and their impact on NGV market growth;
- and more…
The program covers natural gas supply, including a “frank and factual” discussion about hydraulic fracturing, briefings from the CVEF Technology Committee, and a “Compelling Case For NGVs in Public Private Fleets” Workshop.
